Well preserved work. Minimal yellowing to the paper. Glued to cardboard frame. Signed V Jastrau 98 (1898) at the lower left. In very good condition.
Made as an illustration for the Danish edition of an Alexandre Dumas novel about The Three Musketeers.
Jastrau attended the art school of Lauritz Tuxen 1883-1884. In 1885 he went to Paris and studied under Fernand Cormon. He was a pupil of P. S. Kroyer 1886-1888.
